This is an install guide for Game Gear 3.5" Laminated IPS Kit - HISPEEDIDO.
We would only recommend the 3.5" Laminated SEGA Game Gear Replacement Shell - HISPEEDIDO to be used with this kit. The kit was made to be paired with this shell. All non-laminated shells may require heavy trimming in order to be compatible - install at your own risk.
Test before installation! When you receive a backlight/LCD kit, you should perform a dry run before installing to assure that nothing has been damaged in transit. A dry run or test fit means the kit is not installed in the shell. This includes the use of adhesives, brackets, and any performed soldering. All ribbon cables should have no bends or creases in them. If you are unsure how to perform a dry run, please contact our support team and we will be happy to help. Backlight kits that have been installed are not eligible for replacement or return.
LCD may break if put under too much pressure or dropped. Please exercise extreme caution when installing.
Some SEGA shells have a metallic coating on the inside and this metallic coating on the plastic is conductive. It can cause the color modes and/or aspect modes to cycle automatically. To avoid this issue, please scrape off the metallic coating and put the touch sensors directly on the plastic.
This kit DOES NOT support Majesco Game Gear VA4 / VA5, as well as boards with "Made In Taiwan" stamps on the motherboard.
