Install Guide
Shell Trimming
If you are using an original shell or original style shell, we recommend trimming the brackets/plastic located here:
Install
To begin installing your IPS kit, place the adhesive onto the shell - pay attention to shape and placement of adhesive:
Next you can place the alignment spacer in the center located here:
From there, place the LCD into the shell, centered on top of the spacer. Make sure LCD is clean with no dust or fingerprints:
You can then place the lens on the shell. Make sure the lens is clean with no dust or fingerprints on either side:
During these next steps, pay attention to the direction of the cables and do not plug them in incorrectly. Incorrect insertion can burn out the motherboard. This photo is just for reference, do not attach items as seen here until guided to do so:
Now we will add the control panel for the IPS screen and plug the LCD into the port. Then add the ribbon cable for your specific console, either 32pin or 40pin. Then bend the touch ribbon cable behind the Nintendo logo on the front of the shell:
Now at this point add in your buttons and membranes in preparation for the motherboard to be placed into the console:
Note: This image shows a previous version of the kit.
You can then place the motherboard into the front half of the shell and attach the ribbon cable to the motherboard port:
If needed, you can use a piece of kapton tape to keep the touch sensor in place. You can use the back side of a pair of tweezers to push in the sensor, so it is pressed against the top of the shell:
Note: Photo shows a different kit but process is the same.
Finally, you can connect your motherboard to the screen and reassemble your console.
Optional Soldering
If you would like to have button brightness function VIA L/R/Select, solder to these points:
Color Modes:
Color + No Pixel Mode
(Hold touch sensor) Color + Vertical pixel mode
(Hold sensor) color + horizontal pixel mode
(hold sensor) color + retropixel (vertical AND horizontal at same time)
(hold sensor) Black and white + no pixel effect
(Hold touch sensor) B&W + Vertical pixel mode
(hold sensor) B&W + horizontal pixel mode
(hold sensor) B&W + retropixel (vertical AND horizontal at same time)
Then it repeats back to the beginning
