## Power

* **Turn on:** hold **Power**.
* **Turn off:** hold **Power** for 3 seconds, then let go.
* **Frozen?** Hold **Power** for 15 seconds to force a restart.

## Buttons

The buttons follow GameCube positions, with the letters printed on them: **A** is the big middle button. When this site says "hold A", use the button labeled A.

**Triggers** are dual-stage like the original: the analog press, then a click at the bottom. When calibrating them on the **Input** page, press only down to the top of the membrane, not into the click. The app shows how.

## Modes and pairing

Hold a button while you turn the controller on or plug it in. Full table and steps: [Modes & Pairing](https://docs.handheldlegend.com/doc/modes-pairing-hoja-controllers-H61Dy3zPjm).

| Hold | Mode | Wireless |
|------|------|----------|
| A | Switch | Bluetooth. Pair: **A + Start** |
| B | Steam | Bluetooth. Pair: **B + Start** |
| X | XInput | WLAN dongle |
| Y | Slippi | WLAN dongle |
| D-pad Up | Wii | Bluetooth. Pair: **D-pad Up + Start**, then SYNC on the Wii |
| D-pad Right | GameCube | WLAN dongle |
| D-pad Down | N64 | WLAN dongle |
| D-pad Left | SNES / NES | Wired only |

* **Pair with the cable:** in Switch mode, plug it into the Switch once with USB. It pairs by itself, and connects over Bluetooth from then on.
* **Switch 2 (GameCube controller):** works as the Switch 2's own GameCube controller, with Home, Capture and rumble, and takes no pairing slot. With a cable, hold **Y** (the Slippi combo) while plugging it into the Switch 2 to start GameCube mode. Wirelessly, plug a HOJA dongle on current dongle firmware into the Switch 2. See [Modes & Pairing](https://docs.handheldlegend.com/doc/modes-pairing-hoja-controllers-H61Dy3zPjm).
* **WLAN dongle:** hold **ZR** (the right Z button) while turning it on to start the dongle connection. The controller and the dongle need the same 4-digit PIN (set on the **Wireless** page).

## Updating

Connect to [hoja.handheldlegend.com](https://hoja.handheldlegend.com) and press **Update now** when offered. Update mode by hand: hold **ZL + Start** (the left Z button) while plugging in. See [Update Firmware](https://docs.handheldlegend.com/doc/update-firmware-hoja-controllers-KoFvPA77o1). The RM2 radio has no separate firmware to update.
