Install Guide
For a teardown guide, check out this one from iFixit!
If you're performing the Game Boy Macro mod simply bridge the two points labeled "Macro" with solder and install normally according to this guide. The RetroGlow has a resistor on it for the Macro mod added resistor at “LEDA2 and LEDC2”.
Video Guide:
YouTubeTo begin we will align the pcb with the pads that we will be soldering to. We recommend securing the board down with some kapton tape to prevent movement while soldering.
The points labelled p10/p12 should only be soldered if you are doing a Game Boy Macro mod, and you have properly followed steps to install the screen-swapping software mod.
It’s generally recommended to avoid soldering these connections.
Right Side
Solder the GND, 3.3V, and SEL connection points.
Left Side
Solder the cluster of connections shown below. p11 is an optional point, that does not connect to anything.
Test
After you have finished soldering, you can hold the battery to the contacts to test, if all works then you can proceed onto reassembly.
